Creating a resource request
Start from scratch using the Requests tab, or convert an unassigned role placeholder directly from the project planner — either way, the role, dates, and workload carry across automatically.

Use when you know the role or person needed, even if no placeholder exists yet. Navigate to the Requests tab and click "Add a request".
From project placeholders
In the planner, open any unassigned role and select "Create a resourcing request". Role data copies over instantly, keeping your project structure consistent.
Finalisation
Once the request is finalised, the resource owner can compare availability and best-match suggestions, accept, and allocate — replacing the placeholder with a named resource in a single step.
