Øygarden municipality announced just before the New Year that they have chosen Vigilo as their new provider of an administrative system for child welfare.
With Øygarden municipality on board, nearly 60% of all primary school students and kindergarten children in Vestland county will be managed and organized using Vigilo.
CEO Øystein Viland states that the company from Haugesund supplies solutions to the neighboring municipalities of Askøy and Bergen, as well as the municipal collaborations IKT Nordfjord and IKT Nordhordland in Vestland county.
"In 2023, we also implemented our solutions in seven municipalities in Sjustjerna in Møre og Romsdal, Alta municipality in Troms and Finnmark, and Stavanger municipality in Rogaland. We have a strong foothold along the coast," the director says with satisfaction.
User-friendly and logical
Central to the tender process, the municipality has focused on a solution that contributes to quality improvement, efficient use of resources, and simplification of work processes. Vigilo’s solution stands out particularly because its structure is logical and it is intuitive, user-friendly, and efficient.
"It was very nice that this news came at the end of the year. We are especially proud when our features for timetable management and kindergarten admissions are highlighted as simple and effective," says Viland.
Follow-up of attendance obligation
In the awarding, Øygarden particularly highlights Vigilo’s solutions for follow-up of the attendance obligation in the Education Act chapter 9A/kindergarten law §§ 41-43 as especially good.
"Follow-up and case processing of sensitive documents related to children and students is something we at Vigilo have focused on over the past year. After the pandemic, we see an increased need for good systems for student follow-up. We at Vigilo are pleased that our solution is recognized as the best on the market," Viland explains.
Viland further mentions that precisely sensitive documents and student follow-up were the topics for the conference Vigilo held this autumn.
The municipalities are very concerned with this topic. We experience a good collaborative atmosphere across municipalities and county borders for experience sharing and effective use of the tool. 2024 will be the year when Vigilo will truly shape the follow-up of students in Norwegian schools and kindergartens.
