Issa Chahin
Manager

As a Manager in EG Digital Welfare, I’m responsible for leading our team of developers – from junior to mid-level and senior. We develop some of Denmark’s best IT solutions for specialized areas within the healthcare sector, including support and treatment services for citizens with disabilities, mental illness, or substance abuse issues.

I’ve been with EG since 2016, when I started as a junior developer. From day one, I was assigned a buddy, which was a great way to get to know the company and my team. It provided the support I needed, especially coming straight from my studies with no prior work experience. Since then, I’ve been on an incredible development journey, continually growing and taking on more responsibility over time.

At EG, employee development is a clear priority. I’ve benefited from internal training courses, hands-on mentoring from my manager, and access to a wealth of internal learning resources. When I first joined EG, I never imagined I’d one day be in a leadership position – my only goal back then was to become a skilled developer. And I did. But as I grew, new opportunities came, and I began to set new goals. While I still enjoy getting hands-on with code now and then, my most important task today is to support and stay close to my team as a leader.

No two days at EG are the same – and I thrive in an environment where things move fast, and the company is constantly evolving. The variety of tasks and shifting focus keeps the workday exciting and challenging. What I enjoy most are the moments when our teams complete a sprint and celebrate their achievements together – that’s when I truly love coming to work.

What makes working at EG meaningful to me is the clear impact we make. The solutions we build help not only our customers but also everyday citizens. It’s incredibly motivating to know that the work I do has a real and lasting effect on people within the healthcare system.

What sets EG apart as a workplace is the extraordinary social connection among colleagues. We’re more than just coworkers – and that sense of community is strengthened through social activities and shared experiences. I’m proud to be part of EG’s journey, and I truly believe we have the potential to go far as a company and as a workplace.
