The documentation requirements for a company like Private Nursing are extensive. That is why owner Mini Brint has chosen to digitalize the work.
When running a business like ours, it is absolutely crucial to comply with all requirements from the Danish Patient Safety Authority, GDPR, and others. Therefore, we have chosen to digitalize our documentation work with EG Sensum One.
Growing industry
Private Nursing is one of the pioneers in a rapidly growing industry that offers private nursing and assistance to citizens who feel that the services they receive from the public sector are insufficient. Some never start with public home care and only make use of Private Nursing at home.
"In many places, public home care functions well, but there are also places where it does not match the citizen’s needs or expectations at all. Here, we offer a service that allows the citizen to maintain quality of life by staying in their own home and avoiding hospitalization, and for some, a wish to die at home," says Mini Brint
Time to create security
Private Nursing currently has 12 employees who perform tasks in the citizen’s own home but also, for example, in connection with vacations or activities.
"We have time for everything that public home care rarely has. Beyond basic care and attention at home, we can also help when the family wants to take a father with dementia on vacation or relieve the wife who needs someone to take care of the spouse if she has to attend an event.
The services range from classic nursing at home, respite care at home, home and elderly care, terminal nursing at home, and rehabilitation or recovery.
"Often it is the small things that make a big difference in everyday life when you, for example, are affected by dementia, illness, or aging. It could be changing the water in the vase or helping to wash the shirt and change the bed linens. With our many years of experience, we know how little or how much is needed to ensure security and peace in the home, also for the relatives.
Holistic approach to health and illness
At Private Nursing, there is also a holistic approach to health and illness:
"Often there is a cause or story behind the citizen’s illness and situation. Here, a good relationship and close dialogue can solve challenges by connecting body and soul. If you have headaches all the time, it could be because you tense up your body due to family disagreements.
Therefore, it is also typically the same employee who meets the citizen, and we prioritize drinking a cup of coffee and having a chat with the citizen because it brings calm and security," says Mini Brint.
Supplement or replacement
Private Nursing can be a supplement to public home care or completely replace it.
"We are completely flexible and keep our agreements. For example, we have citizens where we just come a couple of hours a few days a week, and other homes where we are there 24 hours a day," says Mini Brint.
Private Nursing has also specialized in helping Danes abroad who need nursing where they live, either temporarily or permanently, or if they need to be repatriated to Denmark.
Focus on health documentation
Together with the core module and the accompanying mobile app, Private Nursing has chosen to start with a number of the modules in EG Sensum One that particularly support the healthcare effort:
Health plan (The 12 nursing problem areas - FSIII)
Medication and FMK integration
DLI (Digital admission notes)
Health communication with the healthcare system (MEDcom)
Indicator with health measurements, meaning value measurements such as blood pressure and weight that can be displayed graphically
FSIII with goals and sub-goals
"Until now we have documented everything on paper, and all documentation is in three folders with the patient. In the long run, it was frustrating because we constantly had to look up, read, and document in many places.
Therefore, we searched for a solution for a long time, but it was difficult to find a system that understands our business and supports care plans, medication management, and evaluation of the healthcare effort.
Fortunately, I was recommended EG Sensum One by a competitor who is very happy with the system.
She therefore has high expectations for EG Sensum One.

First and foremost, I look forward to having a solution that makes our work easier and helps us comply with all requirements for patient safety and GDPR.
Additionally, I expect that the system supports our communication with the public sector, doctors, and hospitals and generally reminds us if we have forgotten to follow up on something. It will also be easier to access our documentation On-The-GO, regardless ofwhether we are sitting in the citizen’s own home, checking something back home, or are abroad with a patient. That will be great," says owner and nurse, Mini Brint, Private Nursing.
