EG and nullCarbon join forces to simplify LCA reporting for the construction industry

It is now even easier for the construction sector — including contractors, consultants and developers — to meet the increasing requirements for climate documentation. Together with nullCarbon, we have entered into a partnership that integrates material data from the EG Sigma calculation platform directly into nullCarbon’s intuitive LCA platform. This enables construction companies to automate LCA calculations and simplify their climate reporting.

The start-up company nullCarbon has entered into a partnership with us, one of the Nordic region’s largest suppliers of industry software. The intention is clear: to help construction companies make LCA calculations easier by providing simpler access to material data.

This supports our strategic goal of reducing the time spent on documentation through digital tools, so the industry can focus on better construction.

- The new integration allows users to automatically retrieve material data and gain a precise overview of the climate impact of their construction projects — with a minimum of manual data handling.

- It saves time, reduces errors and ensures precise climate accounts that comply with stricter legal requirements. It also improves profitability across the construction value chain, says Asmus Ditlev Larsen, Country Manager, Construction at EG.

More requirements from 1 July

From 1 July 2025, CO₂ thresholds for new construction will become stricter. For the first time, the construction site itself must also be included in the LCA calculation. LCA assessments are more important than ever. The construction industry is experiencing increasing pressure to document sustainability — not only from authorities, but also from customers and partners.

Through the partnership, companies gain a tool that not only ensures compliance but also strengthens their market position by making sustainable choices visible.

Henrik Bratbøl, founder of nullCarbon, states:

- The partnership between EG and nullCarbon is not only about meeting legal requirements — it is about creating smarter, more sustainable construction projects. By combining user-friendly technology with reliable data, we make climate reporting easier, faster and more action-oriented.

- With constantly increasing documentation requirements in the construction industry, we wanted to create a platform that delivers real time savings in the LCA processes, turning legislation into a driver for the green transition rather than a barrier, adds Jesper Vindeløv, CEO/co-founder of nullCarbon.
