Contact information for the service
LOVeCare ADHD is an online psychoeducational program developed at Lovisenberg Diaconal Hospital, aimed at adults – especially young people – who have recently been diagnosed with ADHD. The program provides patients with flexible access to knowledge and insight about their own condition and can be used alone or in combination with talk therapy. The goal is to strengthen the patient's understanding and coping skills and reduce the need for extensive physical attendance.
The program is based on existing course materials and updated ADHD knowledge and has been developed in collaboration with psychologists, ICT experts, and users. Patients can use the content at their own pace, with the possibility of guidance if needed. The solution provides healthcare professionals with an effective tool for offering psychoeducation and can help reduce waiting times and increase patient involvement.
About the service
LOVeCare ADHD is an online psychoeducational program developed by psychologists at Lovisenberg Diaconal Hospital, aimed at adults with ADHD, especially young adults with a recent diagnosis. The program replaces the previous physical course offering at the Group Section at SPHR and can be used alone or alongside talk therapy, depending on the patient's needs. It is not intended to replace individual therapy where this is deemed necessary.
The program is available via a simple website, and patients can go through the modules at their own pace, as many times as they wish. A limited number of follow-up sessions are recommended during the course, tailored to the individual patient. This flexible approach gives patients the opportunity to be more actively involved in their own treatment, while also helping to reduce waiting times for psychoeducational measures.
The development of LOVeCare ADHD has involved an interdisciplinary collaboration between psychologists, ICT experts, and user representatives, with technical support from the company CheckWare. The program is built on existing courses at the Group Section and updated knowledge about ADHD, based on principles from guided internet treatment. It has been tested on nearly 30 patients and 15 therapists in the pilot phase, with positive feedback.
LOVeCare ADHD represents a step towards more flexible and accessible treatment options within mental healthcare and can be a useful tool for healthcare professionals wishing to offer psychoeducation to adult patients with ADHD. It requires minimal technical skills from the patient and allows for tailored follow-up based on individual needs.
