This year, employees at EG have made it possible to donate a total of €23.500 to support a solar power solution for critically hit and damaged infrastructure in Ukraine.
EG employees are given the opportunity to exchange their company Christmas gift for a charitable donation, which EG then matches with an additional monetary contribution.
As in previous years, this year's donation is directed toward humanitarian aid benefiting Ukraine.
“Sadly, the war continues, leading to an increasing number of civilians suffering. I am grateful that our donation this year once again can help support innocent people affected by this devastating conflict, even if it’s in a small way”, said Mikkel Bardram,
The donation comes as Ukrainian communities struggle to keep water and electricity running as Russian attacks continue during a devastatingly cold winter.
This winter has been especially harsh, and the ability to provide an entire community in Ukraine with reliable drinking water is a great humanitarian achievement. We are deeply grateful to EG employees for this support. Every cent and every dollar make a difference for Ukrainians.
Green solution for clean water
The project will take place in the Bratske community of the Mykolaiv region, home to about 12,000 people. The donation will pay for solar panels and equipment for the water tower, keeping drinking water available even when the power is out. In southern Ukraine, where sunlight is strong even in winter, solar panels keep water flowing during blackouts.
I am pleased that, through our collective efforts, we have raised much-needed funds for Ukraine. This donation will support the community during Ukraine’s energy crisis caused by constant shelling of power stations and will also help lay the groundwork for the use of green energy in the future.
Nova Ukraine implements solar power projects, which focuses on strengthening critical infrastructure sustainably.
By bringing renewable energy to schools, water systems, and other vital facilities, the project supports immediate humanitarian needs while contributing to long-term resilience and recovery.
