The Gastrointestinal School

The Gastrointestinal School is an online health service where patients diagnosed with IBS gain access to a module-based treatment program consisting of videos, images, and text.

About the service

The Gastrointestinal School (GI School) is an interdisciplinary, internet-guided treatment program for patients diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The program consists of five modules mainly based on text and images, but also videos. The modules are developed by a gastroenterologist, manual therapist (physiotherapist), psychologist, and clinical dietitian.

The clinical dietitian is available for digital guidance and Q&A throughout the treatment via secure electronic communication (security level 4 - e.g. BankID). The internet-guided treatment program will be accessible to the patient for six months.

At the start, patients complete questionnaires about symptoms and quality of life, as well as after three months and six months. The general practitioner receives a letter from the healthcare provider with results and a summary after three months and at the end of the course.
