Zeroni is used across Fira Oy’s construction sites to improve safety and simplify reporting. The partnership has lasted for several years, and Fira’s Head of Safety, Jari Pulkkinen, sees no reason to switch to another solution.
Zeroni is used on all Fira sites, and the data it provides is needed by almost all site personnel. Pulkkinen highlights the system as an essential part of their operations.
– Zeroni is used to manage worker presence on-site and to ensure that all inductions and permits are in order. A couple of years ago, we also implemented a module required by the tax authorities to combat the grey economy, including submitting employee reports directly to the authorities, Pulkkinen explains.
As Head of Safety, Pulkkinen can monitor site operations in real time using Zeroni. He receives reports from the system and can ensure that sites comply with laws and regulations.
A smartphone helps resolve safety deviations
One of the newest features in Zeroni is a safety observation tool. Any member of the site team can report a safety deviation in just half a minute.
– By visiting teehavainto.fi on a smartphone, the device uses GPS coordinates to identify the relevant Zeroni site. A photo of the safety issue is taken, and after adding a few details, the report can be submitted, Pulkkinen explains.
The information is immediately shared with those responsible for site safety.
– By making safety observations, we can significantly improve safety across our sites, Pulkkinen adds.
Better results through a development group
Zeroni has established a development group together with its customer companies. The aim is to continuously improve the service to better meet customer needs.
– The primary goal is to deliver a system that meets the strict safety requirements of this industry. Over time, we have also added objectives related to site management, which have been defined together with other customer companies in the development group, Pulkkinen explains.
– In my opinion, Zeroni has done an exceptional job in recognising that development must be carried out in close collaboration with main contractors and construction companies, Pulkkinen concludes.
